Admissions and Entry Requirements

The University of Cape Coast’s general admission requirements apply to every programme in the Department.

Undergraduate entry

Applicants must satisfy the University’s general admission requirements for undergraduate study, including the required passes at WASSCE or SSCE, and any additional requirements prescribed by the Department.

Postgraduate entry

A candidate seeking admission to a graduate programme in the Department must:

  1. Hold a good first degree or equivalent in English, Linguistics or a related discipline, from an accredited university or analogous institution.

  2. Submit an official transcript of the academic record.

  3. Submit the reference reports required by the School of Graduate Studies.

  4. Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the Department, which may include a written assessment or a selection interview.
